Hair Loss Information
The Samson approach addresses almost every type of hair loss that
affect both men and women. In some cases, hair loss is temporary.

Most hair loss can be attributed to Androgenic Alopecia (AGA) also
know as male pattern baldness (MPB), which results from a combination
of three factors: age, androgens and heredity. Although hair lost
due to MPB may grow back, it usually grows back much thinner and
finer than before, decreasing the volume. Hair loss can begin at
any age affecting about 4 out of 10 men and 1 out of 10 women. Unfortunately,
science still has not yet discovered the exact cause of (MPB).
Samson addresses
permanent or temporary hair loss
attributed to:
- Male
Pattern Baldness - The
most common form of hair loss. Also known as Androgenic
Alopecia or (AGA). Hair loss from MPB is often patchy
affecting one or two areas of the scalp. Although hair lost
due to MPB may grow back, it usually grows back much thinner
and finer than before. Hair loss due to MPB can begin at
any age.

- Alopecia
Areata - The second most
common cause of hair loss. Alopecia Areata is
a disease that results in the loss of hair. It occurs
in males and
females of all ages and races, but often occurs in childhood.
In all cases, hair growth may re-occur after many
years.
The specific causes are not known but heredity plays a
roll.

- Drugs
and Surgery - Hair loss can
occur as a side-effect from medication, drug interaction,
chemotherapy, cosmetic procedures etc.

- Health
& Stress
- Nutritional Imbalance such as, crash diets often
cause hair loss. Stress, anxiety or an overall poor state
of health can contribute to hair thinning or loss.
For women hair loss can occur
after menopause, discontinuing birth control pills, or hormonal
imbalances.

- Chemical
Damage - Often caused by the
over-use of chemicals such as home perms, relaxers and coloring.
Hair preparations and shampoos can also cause allergic reactions
resulting in hair loss.

- Accidental
Inquiry - Including burn and
scar victims, automobile injuries, personal assault, disaster
trauma etc.
